Amy Ahearn

Amy Ahearn is an instructional designer who builds online, blended and in-person learning experiences. She strives to use technology thoughtfully to help people all over the world learn in new ways. She thinks that learning should be tangible, participatory, sometimes tough, and available to everyone.

Currently Amy is an Online Learning Manager at Acumen where she builds online courses to help people all over the world tackle problems of poverty and an Online Learning columnist for EdSurge. Previously, Amy was an online education manager for the Stanford University School of Medicine and held a senior position at IREX, an international NGO in Washington DC. She got her start in the education field by teaching English on a Fulbright grant to Malaysia. She holds an MA in Learning, Design and Technology from Stanford University and a BA in English from Bowdoin College. She remains a huge advocate of offline learning and tries to spend as much time outdoors as possible.
